RIP IT UP'S 1000TH BIRTHDAY BASH!!
Rip It Up’s 1000th issue celebration is so close you lift your nose to the breeze and smell its sweet party flavours.

We’ve already told you about our special live music guests City Riots (as endorsed by The Academy Is…!), The Transatlantics (as endorsed by Eddie Bo!) and The Shiny Brights (as endorsed by costumed tigers across the country!), now here’s something else a little bit special.

Providing some super-cool visuals during the Rip It Up 1000th Issue Party at the Gov on Thu Sep 11 will be Supermarket VJs.
Adelaide based but globally renowned, the talented tech-savvy duo have recently returned from another North American tour. Whether it’s remixed scenes lifted from martial arts films, file footage of Indonesian weavers or NASA stock, the Supermarket VJs cut a vivid, mashed-up and dextrous path through new technology. The Supermarket VJs will be providing their wicked mixes of film interlaced with gig shots, cover art and special moments culled from Rip It Up’s 20 years of existence throughout the night, projecting footage while the bands kick out the jams and guest DJ Alistair Cookie spins up a storm.
Whaddya mean you still want more?
Three stellar local bands, some awesome dance tunes and a killer audiovisual display aren’t enough for you? How about if we throw in door prize packs from record companies including Universal, Warner, Liberation and EMI, drink specials throughout the night and the sort of celebratory buzz that PR spin doctors would love to bottle? You can’t buy mindblowing love like that for a paltry five bucks unless you’ve got some underworld contacts in the Czech Republic.

If you’re not keen on missing out on this extravaganza, head over to Moshtix and grab your tickets now.
Sorry kids, but it’s over 18s only (surely someone down near the sports shed at lunchtime can sort you out with a fake ID?).
Smell that? The party of the year is just around the corner.

When: Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 8:00pm
