Trendy London department store Selfridges are 'getting with it' this British festival season with a series of musically-inspired 3D art installments to put on display in their shop windows. Here we have Empire of the Sun's Walking On A Dream.
Music and fashion have been inextricably linked ever since the mod days of the 1960s, and probably a good long while before that. Little did they know that what this link would eventuate into was scantily-clad women women telephone hats and skinny-jeaned, leather jacketed indie uniformity.
Selfridges have other ideas though. They're using the musical inspiration of 10 different artists from around the world to create 3D art displays to put in their windows. A bit abstract sure, but have a look at the results:

Empire of the Sun are a visually amazing live experience and the folks at Selfridges have done a pretty good job re-interpreting that here. Other artists that have had their music turned into...this include Florence & The Machine, Dizzee Rascal, The XX, Marina & The Diamonds, Hot Chip, The Big Pink and The Drums so no doubt there are some pretty interesting artworks on display.

So if you're heading to London in the next six weeks, make sure you cruise past Selfridges on Oxford Street to have a look see.
