The Dead Weather announce new album details

Not even a year ofter the release of debut album Horehound, the Nashville supergroup have unveiled new single Die By The Drop ahead of sophomore record Sea of Cowards, due out this May.

Horehound was a great dirty ride through the cerebral depths of a rock & roll genius. What will Jack White and co. dish up for Sea of Cowards? First single Die By The Drop picks up where the 2009 debut left off - gritty, gloomy and full of spiky rock rhythms. White elaborated on the song when he spoke to Triple J:

"It's a strange track. We recorded it very fast between tours.When we came back to record a few weeks later we played along with the demo on a different tape recorder - we played along with ourselves - and expanded it into a three-minute song. Then it became a duet between me and Alison Mosshart. Now it's worked it's way all the way up to being a single!"

Sea Of Cowards comes out on Mon May 10 through Third Man/Warner. Die By The Drop will be available for download on Thu Mar 30, followed by a physical release one week later.
