BIG DAY OUT & HEARTBREAK

Kanye West, The Living End and Mariachi El Bronx will no longer be appearing at the Adelaide or Perth leg of the 2012 Big Day Out  due to a decision by organisers for Adelaide to only have one main stage instead of the usual two for next year’s music festival.

These are part of cuts the Big Day Out are making to the annual music festival in Adelaide and Perth. In a statement the Big Day Out says the decision to go with a single main stage instead of two "is to capture the magic of the early Big Day Out shows."

The news come two weeks after the one of the promoters of the festival since 1992, Vivian Lees, decided to leave the Big Day Out franchise.

The cuts have undoubtedly overshadowed the second official Big Day Out  line-up announcement, which includes acts such as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Nero, The Vaccines, Drapht and Kimbra plus the triple J unearthed winners, which selected the Honey Pies to perform in Adelaide.

If you are unhappy with the cuts to the Big Day Out you have a few options. Current ticketholders to the Adelaide leg are now automatically entitled to $20 merchandise credit for the Big Day Out; tickets already purchased to Adelaide can be exchanged for tickets to the Gold Coast, Sydney or Melbourne or a refund is available until Wed Nov 30.
