Yesterday the Groovin' The Moo travelling festival announced its biggest and best line-up to date, with the likes of Vampire Weekend, Silverchair and Empire of the Sun all featuring on the bill. And while the regional centres lucky enough to hosting one of the five dates are chuffed to bits, Adelaide has already been given two reasons to celebrate with them.
Two North American indie heavyweights have already locked in sideshows from the tour, both of which will be making their way to Adelaide.
First to the punch was Canada's Tegan & Sara. The identical twin sisters have cult sensations of themselves in Australia, and the release of their sixth studio album Sainthood last year only endeared them further. The last time they were in the country was late in 2008 so don't miss your chance to ctach them this time around. They will be supported by Astronautalis and The Jezabels.
Then early this morning we were over the moon to hear that Texan rockers Spoon has also announced an Adelaide date. With their seventh album Transference getting released earlier this year, and already earning some lavish praise around the world, Spoon are one of those must-see live bands to be ticked off your list. Catch them when they drop by this May.
Wanna know the worst thing about these two mega shows? They're both happening on the same night!
Tegan & Sara play Thebarton Theatre on Thu May 13. Tix on sale Fri Feb 12. Or catch Spoon at Fowlers Live on the same night. Get your tickets on Tue Feb 16.
