If you thought The Prodigy, Empire Of The Sun, Franz Ferdinand, David Guetta and co were enough to headline 2010’s Future Music Festival then you were wrong. The all-conquering dance music festival has just released its second round of announcements. So try this on for a sweater of new musical acts to get you excited: Spank Rock, Way Out West, Operator Please, Bag Raiders, Space Invadas and Jump Jump Dance Dance!
Baltimore club exponents Spank Rock lead the announcements (though we are still waiting for a follow-up to their 2006 album YoYoYoYoYo), another festival appearance will hold us over until they return with a new record of dirty hip hop and club music. Prog heavyweights Way Out West (Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff) hit Future after releasing last year’s acclaimed album We Love Machine. Indie kids Operator Please have a new album ready to go this year and will preview their new live sound at Future, while Australia’s newest indie dance superstars Bag Raiders will play live to showcase club hits such as Shooting Stars and Fun Punch.
The Future Music Festival hits Adelaide on Mon Mar 8 at Rundle and Rymill Parks.
