Paul Dempsey for rare Adelaide acoustic show

More than a year on from releasing his debut solo album, Paul Dempsey will play an overdue gig in Adelaide next year. The singer-songwriter and Something For Kate frontman will be in acoustic mode when he lights up the stage at Fowler's Live at the end of January.

Paul Dempsey's been a little bit like the neglectful son who's forgotten to call home since the release of Everything Is True. But I suppose you could forgive him when you consider everything that's been keeping him busy: 5 ARIA nominations last year, an iTunes Australian Album of the Year Award and a string of sellout tours would be enough to tie him up, but the troubadour also relocated to the US this year, where he's currently writing the new Something For Kate Album. Still, it wouldn't kill him to call, would it?

When Paul hits the stage at Fowler's it will be hard to stay mad at him though. He's promising a licorice all sorts show, with new material thrown in with tracks from Everything Is True as well as some Something For Kate classics.

Paul Dempsey plays Fowler's Live on Sat Jan 29. Tickets on sale now through flybynight.
