And the biggest news is that we're gon' get us a ho down!
The St. Jerome's Laneway Festival is one Australia's premier touring music festivals, travelling to all capital cities and presenting a broad cross-section of music from all over the world. The first line-up of bands announced for the 2010 festival got our hearts racing at Rip It Up and now we've heard that we're getting two more when Laneway takes over Fowler's Live next year.
Mumford & Sons, who originally snubbed Adelaide on the first announcement, have thankfully reconsidered their tour schedule and will now be paying us a visit. The English four-piece have built up a massive buzz this year, with their intimate live shows and debut album Sigh No More earning lavish praise from all corners of the world. Their song Little Lion Man has Mumford & Sons one of the stars of 2009 and the group will be sure to amaze at Laneway next year.
As well as the bluegrassy folk rockers, Adelaide's own The Swiss have just joined the bill to play at Fowler's. Having just wrapped up a national tour in support of Ladyhawke, the disco-funk trio are gathering more fans with every note they play. A recent signing to Modular Records, The Swiss are due to release a new EP Bubblebath early in 2010. Make sure you catch them at Laneway next year.
They will join Echo & The Bunnymen, Florence and The Machine, Black Lips, The XX, Sarah Blasko, N.AS.A, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Hockey, Dappled Cities, Mumford & Sons , Radioclit, The Very Best, Whitley, The Middle East, Kid Sam, as well as more to be announced.
The St. Jerome's Laneway Festival hits the Fowler's Live Complex on Fri Feb 5. Tickets available through the Laneway website
Whoah, Adam Ant is coming to Adelaide as part of a comeback tour this March.
The former White Stripes frontman has released the first single off his new solo album.
The psychedelic locals will be performing with The Living End at this year's Clipsal 500
